Filipino Awarded Hotelier Of The Year

The title “Hotelier of the Year” was awarded to Filipino Rey Moraga by the Stelliers Awards. The awarding ceremony took place online on the 4th December 2020.

Rey Moraga named Hotelier of the Year 2020

Stelliers honours dedicated professionals of the hotel industry. Recognizing the most talented hoteliers and aiming to inspire younger generations considering a career in hospitality.

The winners of each category had been selected based on their performance in 2019, prior to the COVID-19 travel lockdown.

Rey wrote on his Facebook Profile about the Hotelier of the Year Award:-

“Incredibly honored and humbled to have been named the Hotelier of the Year in the Front Office category of the prestigious Stelliers Awards 2020!

This year has been an extraordinary time for all of us, and this distinction takes on a profound significance even more”.

Rey, who studied at Enderun Colleges and École Ducasse, went on to thank his Raffles family and its “Steadfast dedication to exceptional hospitality and unwavering commitment to service excellence.”

Philippine Tourism Secretary Berna Romulo-Puyat said “I am proud to have witnessed Rey grow in his chosen profession. I have known Rey for almost a decade and as a young hotelier …… this will serve as an inspiration to young and aspiring Filipino hoteliers.”

Rey, from Davao, currently works for Raffles Grand Hotel d”Angkor in Siem Reap.
